Thank you to everyone who made it out to Mr. Hamilton’s inaugural REI Networking meeting this past weekend. At the meeting we updated investors on the proposed rental licensing and we dissected a recent student rental purchase from beginning to how an investor signed leases from Nov – April for ABOVE market rent. There were a ton of great lessons learned from that experience which we shared with everyone in attendance. Next we split into four groups where everyone had a chance to talk about themselves, offer the group what they have to contribute in exerience, skills, knowledge and anything they need help with. This is the reason we need the group to stay small so everyone can have a turn to speak and we maintain a high ratio of experienced investors to beginners. Funny how many people said they need help locating investment property because supply is limited and even more excellent was someone who was in need of a job may have gotten one!!! My friends are so awesome. Following the meeting we all went on an educational tour of investment properties. One action taker even decided to make an offer!! And that’s what investing is about, taking action. Not sitting in a room hearing some crazy Tiger Cats fan blab about Hamilton.

Since Saturday I’ve spoken to several attendees and everyone had a great time. How often do you get to hang out with like minded people and learn from people who have done what you want. Here’s what one friend said,
“It was great to meet other investors yesterday. I’m glad I could contribute and hopefully helped someone. That’s what this is all about. Thanks again for organizing it.”
That’s exactly what Saturday’s meeting was all about, a room full of real estate investors, some novice and some like Rui who recently executed on his fourth JV deal this year to add to his total of nine investment properties in Hamilton!!
I am super pumped for our next meeting which will be in January and this time we’ll have coffee along with snacks thanks to our to be announced sponsor :) Also, because real estate investing is much MUCH more than making an income, we will be collecting $5 from each attendee to donate to my favourite charity A Room to Read who builds schools for children in third countries. Can’t wait! I have so many topics I want to present but not enough time. At least that’s a good problem to have. Unfortunately because we are limited by the size of the room and because we want to keep the networking to a high level, we will only be inviting friends/clients and action takers who want to work with the Mr. Hamilton team.
