Hello real estate investors in Hamilton, Ontario!
I was at a real estate networking event recently where I was speaking to an investor who recently purchased a multi-family property on King St E in Hamilton, Ontario. I’m always excited to talk real estate, especially multi-family properties, and especially if its in Hamilton 🙂
The discussion moved to the LRT and the fact that the east-west B-Line will go by his property therefore his neighbourhood would experience greater appreciation than others. Unfortunately this is not true because his property was a considerable distance, well beyond 800 meters for the closest LRT station.  I explained with an example, my house is on the flight path for several air planes but I’m 40 minutes away from the airport, do I derive any benefit from being on a flight path? I think no. Want to know where the stations are planned? Go back to my post on the Hamilton Transportation Effect
Here’s an update on the LRT, check out this Video illustration of proposed Hamilton B-Line LRT through the Downtown between Walnut Street and Bay Street

Some takeaways from the video:
- The train’s destination reads “McMaster” so we know the train is travelling east to west
- Note the station in the video is located on King between Walnut and Mary St. (Am I on the only one tracing an 800 meters radius on the maps!??!)
- Both east and west bound trains will travel along King in this corridor. Does that mean cars will be allowed to travel eastbound on King? For those unfamiliar with this area, King is one-way westbound.
- At the end of the video, the train travelling east has a destination of “Eastgate”
