This past weekend was the Investor Forum hosted by the Canadian Real Estate Wealth Magazine and what a great weekend of real estate education and networking!!!
Friend of the Mr Hamilton family, Tim JP Collins, kicked off the weekend with a touching and inspiring keynote talk about how his real estate journey started with a six figure salary, VP Sales job that made him unhappy, and transitioned into fulfilling his life purpose of helping people cope with their extreme stress and anxiety. Every attendee was buzzing and could associate with him sacrificing family, health, and his sanity in the pursuit of money and nice things. Unfortunately, the nice things began to own him as he had to bring home 15,000 per month to support his lifestyle. Changing to a minimalist lifestyle and investing heavily into real estate, with the help of yours truly, saved him and allowed him to pursue a path of meaningful work.
Cherry Chan, C.P.A., C.A. delivered an educational presentation on estate planning on Saturday and how to invest with corporations on the Sunday. Attendees were highly impressed with the knowledge they gained.
At the awards luncheon, the Mr. Hamilton Team & clients did quite well, with Erika Spencer named a finalist for the Rising Star Award and our rock star client Charles Wah, was declared the winner! Congratulations Charles, your hard work is being recognized!
For the third time in five years, I was a finalist for the Real Estate Agent of the Year and for the 2nd year in a row, I am honoured to be your 2017 Real Estate Agent of the Year. I honestly didn’t think I would be allowed to win again so soon, and two of the other finalists were previously winners as well. The competition was steep and I am honoured to be mentioned in the same category.

ou can only go as far as your team can take you, and the Mr. Hamilton Team has delivered us yet another award as being the best in our industry, for the third time in two years.Â
I thank my wife Cherry Chan for tolerating and supporting me, even when I’m on my phone negotiating with other Realtors, trying to start a bidding war for my seller client, on Sunday family day at the petting zoo (ask Cherry, this really happened). It worked, as I was able to get the price bid up over asking, and several thousand more than my seller expected. I would also like to thank my coach Mary-Anne, my mentors: Don Campbell, Tom and Nick Karadza, and everyone who nominated me for the award.
Most importantly, I would like to thank our clients, thank you for sharing your dreams with us and allowing us on your investment journey to financial freedom. Going through your ups and downs together bonds us as a tribe, a form of family. Many of you have been huge supporters of us by referring your friends and family and we don’t take your trust lightly. We will continue to provide them award winning advisory services. You may not know this, but not everyone we meet takes action and invests to improve their financial futures. You are a minority, you took action and you are successful because of it.
Don’t worry though, we don’t let success get to our heads, as with last year’s wins (both Canadian Real Estate Magazine AND Real Estate Investment Network’s Realtor of the Year awards), we will take a short amount of time to celebrate and come back with a vengeance, no different if we had lost. Â We will create even more value in both business and our registered charity the HamiltonBasketBrigade.com. 2017 will be even bigger than last, we are only getting started!!!
