Hello Investors of Hamilton real estate!!!
We’re back! Back from a week long cruise in the Eastern Caribbean aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas in an intimate setting of 5000+ other cruise setters LOL!! The experience got off to a rocky start no different than when you first take possession of a Hamilton real estate investment property. When we boarded, the main buffet was packed! The food was good, but there were no available tables. We ended up sharing a table, so no big deal. Breakfast the next morning was the same, PACKED! So we learned to avoid the buffet and just dine in the main dining room for pretty much every meal, and it was really good! No different than real estate investing – you simply go with the flow, read where the market is going and adjust to it.
The service was quite excellent too and I like good service, plus I sometimes tip generously. There is a mandatory gratuity per person per day charged to my room but I do alright and the ship staff work their tails off, 10 hour days, no days off for eight months at a time. I’ve found cruise service to be better than beach resort staff. Anyways, I would always carry small bills for tips and I tipped our room steward and both dinner seating waiters $5 every day. They were always grateful, service was top notch, and them being happy made me happy.
We had ports in the Bahamas where Cherry and I checked out the world renowned Atlantics Paradise Island Resort. Cherry grabbed a chair by the pool while I rode the Leap of Faith, considered a top 10 waterslide in the world because it’s crazy steep and tunnels through a SHARK infested pool (video: https://youtu.be/5j1g3f_W6uQ?t=93). Next was St Thomas where we snorkeled reefs and swam with eagle rays and sea turtles. Last stop was St. Maarten where we rented chairs and stretched out on the beach the whole time.
The overall theme of the trip for Cherry and I was that it was our first vacation without the kids (thank you, mom)!! With all this free time, we consumed a lot of business books and training material. We even read at the table for each meal when waiting for our food. I know it sounds unromantic but I think I spend more time with and talking to Cherry than most couples I know because we work from home and we’re like-minded as driven entrepreneurs. We returned home missing the kids and feeling more invigorated, fully confident 2017 will be our best year.
Speaking of best years, we have reached our fundraising goal for the Christmas edition of the Hamilton Basket Brigade!!! Thank you to all who donated and have volunteered to come on Saturday to pack deliver the baskets to less fortunate families. My family and I have much to be grateful for hence we have volunteer countless hours and donated tens of thousands to make this happen. This Christmas we will have fed 238 families for a total of 541 families, or over 2,700 men, women (mostly single moms), and children in 2016. These families at risk of going hungry over Christmas have been identified and nominated to us by government organizations and they’re in for a fun surprise as they do not know we are coming. 🙂
